Owned and operated by Dona Leonard, an Occupational Therapist and Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist II (Aging Workforce) with nearly 20 years’ experience, NEWork Enterprises™ supports workers and the places they work. Clients include small businesses to large, multinational employers, as well as State, County, and Municipal governments.
Training and educational seminar audiences have included the Colorado Bar Association, BBB/Pinnacol Policyholder groups, Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation, Rocky Mountain Electrical League (RMEL), American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and The Center for Workers’ Compensation Training. Participating as an Advisory Committee member, Dona assisted with the CDLE Revision of Exhibit 7, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome-Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (2017.)
Dona is Level I Division Accredited as of 2024 and is currently gaining certification as a Level I Provider under the Division’s expanded program.
As the owner of NEWork Enterprises, Dona brings over 15 years of experience bridging clinical and functional assessment of workers, with job task analysis and ergonomics.
Driving proactive collaboration between occupational health, safety, human resources, and risk management professionals, Dona improves outcomes in workers’ compensation claims while keeping the well-being of Colorado’s workforce Front of Mind.
Dona has developed professional workshops on Health, Safety and Risk Management topics to audiences including the Colorado Bar Association, BBB/Pinnacol Policyholder groups, Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation, Rocky Mountain Electrical League (RMEL), and The Center for Workers’ Compensation Training.
As the owner of NEWork Enterprises, Dona brings 15 years of Occupational Therapist and Ergonomics Assessment expertise. Between her background and experience in the industry, she encompasses a full scope of skill sets to help find the solutions that can bring a positive outcome to a workforce. Based in Northern Colorado, she has helped local industry and government agencies develop leading-indicator solutions for work related musculoskeletal disorders while advocating for evidence-based Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE) to help mitigate the devastating effects of chronic pain on the workforce and community. In addition to working with local and state businesses, she has partnered with international industry partners in web-based ergonomic assessments and training.
Dona works to facilitate a growing partnership between healthcare, safety and risk management – improving outcomes in workplace injury prevention and worker well-being with a focus on the aging workforce. Partnering with safety professionals, she hopes to be part of a growing Total Worker HealthTM movement within the state and across the nation.
She has been director of Colorado In Motion’s Industrial Health division for the past 6 years and has gained in-depth knowledge of local and state government workings beneficial to jobsite analysis, workers comp claims and more. She has also been a part of ASSP Rocky Mountain Chapter over the past 5 years, which has presented an invaluable learning opportunity – developing relationships with colleagues in safety, risk management and insurance to gain a better understanding of the resources they contribute to workers and their workplaces.
